NUMBERS 26, LUKE 2

There are a lot of war themes in the Bible.  Today they counted how many men were available for the Israelite army.  Why did the Israelites have an army?  The Psalm today (and a lot of days) are about beating their enemy.

It's weird because there are no references whatsoever from Jesus.  You never talked about defeating the enemy (unless it was Satan) or using violence (except that one time when You said to bring a sword).  But, You were a fighter - not with violence, but with determination, focus, and belief.

I get the analogy.  We are at war, like You said, with evil.  We have to fight, not with violence, but with The Spirit.

I just don't get why there were real people, fighting real wars to show that.
