GENESIS 26-27, MATTHEW 9

This blessing and curse thing intrigues me.  Rebekah thinks it's so important that she makes Jacob trick her husband.  Esau thinks it's so important that he plans to kill his brother for tricking his father.  But, it's just a blessing, right?  Does it really have any power?

It's not like if someone gave a blessing it would definitely happen.  Or was it?  Or is it?

Our words are powerful.  Our words backed by God are even more powerful.  Now, I'm not in the habit of giving blessings out, but maybe our prayers don't "work" because we really don't believe they will.

Isaac believed in the blessing.  He believed it so much that he couldn't give out a second one - he only had one.  Maybe we should also believe that the blessings we send out have that much power too.
