You don't seem like a "buy a sword" guy!
Are You telling them that now they're going to need to get stuff on their own because You're going to be gone? Or is it because they will be on the run and will need to make sure they have money and supplies in case they get stuck in a place for a long time? I just don't get it. Unless You are just talking about for the next couple of days.
And as I read the next couple of verses (come back tomorrow!) - there it is! This is Your way of telling them that You are going away for a while.
For the disciples who have spent every second of every day with You, for, what, like three years, this is so weird. They've depended on You for everything - spiritually, physically, mentally. Everything has been tied into You.
Maybe it should be the same way for us.
