GENESIS 20-22, MATTHEW 7

Two people were willing to sacrifice their own children.  I mean, I guess there were some religions that did that regularly back then so a lot of people were willing to and went through with it - wow, now that I think about it, that is horrible.  How could someone just willingly sacrifice their own child?  How could you take your child somewhere and lead them to their death?

Now, I'm starting to think about God.  He literally asked Abraham to do just that.  Seems like a cruel test - a little bit over the top.  Sure it proves his love for God, but can you imagine Abraham's thoughts as he is building that altar?

I have to come clean - halfway through the first paragraph I got it.  It is cruel and that is horrible.  No father or mother should have to go through that, but THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT GOD WENT THROUGH!  No, God was not trying to show us how He feels - he never actually made them do it, but to think of what You did - incredible.
