LUKE 7

It says Jesus was actually "amazed" at a centurion's faith, and I started to think, "How cool would it be for Jesus to be amazed at anything I did?"  But, think about it - Jesus was just impressed that this guy knew the power of God, trusted it, believed He could do anything.  Don't a lot of us do that?  Yes, but he also acted on it.  Told Jesus about it - in front of people.  A centurion.  Not a Pharisee, not a Jew, but a Roman politician.

So, acting on faith impresses Jesus, but look at what he says about John.  Of those born of women, no one is greater than John.  Cool, huh?  But wait.  Later he says, "yet the one who is least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he."  What?  How can John be the greatest, but everyone else is greater than him?

Maybe it's not about impressing Jesus.  Maybe Jesus is saying that it's not about being the greatest.  There are no Super Followers or a Mount Rushmore of disciples.  It's not a comparison game.  Just be who you were meant to be.  That's it!  And realize that God can do way more than you can - so have faith in Him!
