LUKE 22:31

"Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat." - Luke 22:31

Here's what sifting wheat looks like: NOT GOOD!  The lady from this blog says basically Jesus is telling them - "it's gonna hurt like hell."  You beat the wheat, then you shake it, until all of the inedible chaff is gone.

This is what Satan asked to do to them.  (Side note: How does that work?  Are You and Satan having regular conversations?  Is he interrupting prayer time?).  And Jesus feels like He has to tell Peter.

I guess the message here is that life is hard.  Christian life.  Non-christian life.  Every life.  It's hard.  I guess we all kinda get sifted like wheat at some points in our life.  So, maybe we should expect that.  Don't worry about it - it's coming whether we worry or not.  Don't get discouraged when it comes - it comes for everyone.  Don't feel ashamed, like we did something to deserve it - the disciples got it too!

But know that in the end, bread is made, and bread is delicious!
